Safe-T-Opolis is a FREE interactive program presented virtually by specially trained Alabama Power employees to 4th graders in our service territory. With presenting virtually, we can present using a variety of platforms, including Google Meet, Zoom, Webex, GoTo and Microsoft Teams.
During the presentation, we will also introduce and play our electrical safety learning video game, Power Play! The video game uses puzzles, character customizations, and hidden Easter Eggs to recreate hazardous situations and also features a trivia game that tests students’ understanding of the Alabama Course of Study 4th grade Science Standards. The game is played as part of the Safe-T-Opolis program but can also be played by students and teachers at home or at school. The game works for schools that are 1:1 and those that are not—all you need is a computer and an internet connection to play.
Safe-T-Opolis programs last about 45 minutes and can be presented at any date and time that is convenient for the teacher. The program meets educational standards for fourth graders in Alabama and is endorsed by the state Department of Education.
